Talking About Teaching - September 29th

Hosted By:   Teaching Centre University of Lethbridge

Scholarly inquiry is fundamental to the enhancement of teaching effectiveness, and having a collaborative community to help support inquiries about teaching effectiveness can assist in turning questions into actionable research. Here at the UofL, we are lucky enough to have a growing community of researchers focusing on teaching effectiveness who can share knowledge and grow the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning(SoTL).

At the next Talking About Teaching, we want to explore the importance of small scale classroom research, and better understand the process of gathering data regarding our teaching effectiveness. We will also explore how to get started with researching your teaching effectiveness, and explore what questions you could be researching regarding your teaching?  How do we go about evaluating our assessment or engagement practices in the classroom? How do we introduce a new type of assignment and assess its effects on student learning?
